The only saving grace is Tim curry lol. Despite all the twisted nature of the movie the film is still not one of the greats but is a very fun film to watch. This show has comedic timing like no TV show from this era Ive ever seen. Get a guy who looks at you like how Gomez looks at Morticia. Gomez is sweet, fun, and charming. Morticia is graceful and kind. I love their relationship. Entertaining film version of the 60's television series with Julia and Huston beautifully in sync as Gomez and Morticia, while Lloyd is a hammy riot as Uncle Fester. Art direction is impressive and the direction of Barry Sonnefeld is solid throughout. Followed by ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES in 1993. I wish i had a Thing to turn my sheet music.

I loved it up to “this is gonna be lit”— can movies stop trying to be relatable if they arent at all. I just learned the Adamses were pioneers of the homeschooling movement. Did anyone notice that when they went into the conservatory Wednesdays hair was different. I miss when they played this on TVland when they had good shows on, I only watched in on reruns of course. I was about 11 yrs old when I started watching The Addams Family, now I'm almost 30 yrs old, and still obsessed with this amazing TV Series. I have them on DVD & the movies but I prefer the TV series. Even have a T Shirt of them on it & it says Addams Family on the back. My favorite characters in the Addams family are Fester and Wendsday.
Well plot wise this movie is not very original but it is the characters and background that truly makes a movie and the Addams Family is a very strange but interesting background to give to a regular overused plot. The Addams Family movie centers on Fester returning from being lost after a fight with his brother Gomez and his re-adapting to the household. Many dangerous times ensue as he is really an impostor trying to take hold of the addams bank account...
